WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) proudly announces that, through the Cruiseline 2024 Member Choice Awards, Curaçao has been chosen as the second-best cruise port in the world based on evaluations by cruise passengers. The support from the cruise community in Curaçao has been crucial in achieving this result. CPA will continue collaborating with stakeholders to further strengthen the cruise sector and contribute to the economic development of Curaçao.
For 2024, CPA expects to receive approximately 300 cruise ships, resulting in around 800,000 cruise passengers, representing an increase of nearly 13% compared to 2023. To further develop cruise activities, CPA implemented a second Megapier worth $40 million in 2017 and is now preparing for the launch of phase 2 of the Rif Seaport project, which includes the development of a new cruise terminal. The goal is to further grow the cruise market to at least one million cruise passengers per year.
