SAN JUAN, WILLEMSTAD - This week, Curaçao’s Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Urban Planning took part in the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA) Conference in Puerto Rico, accompanied by representatives from the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) and the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB).
The annual FCCA Conference serves as a key platform for building and strengthening relationships with international leaders in the cruise industry, while also exploring new opportunities to expand and position Curaçao as one of the Caribbean’s leading cruise destinations.

According to the Curaçao delegation, their participation demonstrates the island’s commitment to sustainable growth within both the maritime and tourism sectors. The goal is to attract more cruise lines, enhance the visitor experience, and generate long-term benefits for the local community.
The Minister praised the continuous work of the Curaçao Ports Authority, noting that CPA has spent years ensuring that the port and mega pier are prepared to receive the latest generation of cruise ships, including record-breaking vessels such as Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas.
“Staying one step ahead is essential,” the Minister said, highlighting CPA’s achievements and Curaçao’s readiness to meet future demands in cruise tourism.
The Curaçao delegation also plans to hold a series of meetings with industry leaders during the conference to discuss strategic developments and opportunities for further collaboration.
Together with CPA and CTB, the Minister reaffirmed that Curaçao remains focused on collaboration, innovation, and strong partnerships as the foundation for the island’s ongoing cruise industry development.
