WILLEMSTAD - On Sunday, December 17th the soft opening of the latest Corendon hotel in Curaçao took place, The Rif at Mangrove Beach.
The opening was attended by prominent Curaçao's personalities, including Gilmar Pisas (the Prime Minister of Curaçao), Ruisandro Cijntje (the Minister for Economic Development of Curaçao), various parliament members, and Pablo Maturana (VP Development South America & The Caribbean) from Hilton Hotels. The guests were given a taste of the luxury that awaits guests of the hotel.
The festivities marked the completion of the first two floors and all amenities, including three sophisticated à la carte restaurants. Although all 385 rooms are expected to be ready by early April, attendees were treated to a sneak peek of the luxury that awaits them.
The Rif at Mangrove Beach promises a vacation under the Caribbean sun in pure luxury. Surrounded by a unique lagoon and park area with mangrove forests on three sides, and conveniently located near Willemstad, the hotel boasts a delightful private beach with a replica of the famous pontoon bridge and the island's most beautiful coral reef.
From spacious deluxe rooms overlooking lush gardens to swim-up rooms with direct pool access, the hotel offers a range of accommodations. Guests enjoy an Ultra All-Inclusive stay, with options such as pool bars, a coffee shop, and three à la carte restaurants offering Mexican, Turkish, and Harbor Bistro's surprising dishes. Even room service is part of the All-Inclusive concept. Additionally, all facilities of the adjacent Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort are available.
Atilay Uslu, Corendon's founder, expressed pride in the new hotel during his opening speech, highlighting Corendon's commitment. "We are here to stay", he said in his opening remarks.
The hotel's name, The Rif, reflects a deep connection to the incredible biological wonders embodied by coral reefs. Inspired by coral reef design, the hotel's exotic decor is evident in various public spaces and guest rooms, catering to the unique preferences of each guest.
For families, special family rooms offer maximum privacy with two adjacent rooms. The hotel not only provides luxury accommodations but also features an aquapark in the neighboring Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort, complete with pools and slides, including the infamous King Cobra, the only slide of its kind in the Caribbean.
Corendon, which is now inseparably connected to Curaçao, has invested nearly €200 million in its own hotels on the island over the past five years, including the five-star Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort, the four-star Livingstone Jan Thiel Resort, and the Ritz hotel. With the addition of The Rif at Mangrove Beach, Corendon aims for a nearly 30 % capacity increase on the Curaçao-Amsterdam route, crucial for both tourism and employment on the island.
