"Construction second phase Corendon expected this fall"

WILLEMSTAD - Corendon hopes to start the second phase of the construction of the Mangrove Beach Resort this fall. This was announced by Corendon CEO Atilay Uslu in the Dutch newspaper Antilliaans Dagblad.

The goal is to build 400 extra rooms within a year and a half. The funding from the General Pension Fund (APC) has been finalized, but Uslu says he only wants to give the green light once the corona pandemic is under control. He also says that the hotel must first recover from the bad occupation in the first year.

Corendon hopes for an occupancy rate of 40 percent by July. More staff can therefore be hired around the autumn, says Uslu.
