WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Apartment Small Hotel Association (CASHA) sees an occupancy of eighty percent in November at the affiliated accommodations of the interest group in the tourism sector, the organization reports. This is an increase of thirteen percent compared to the previous month.
While the November numbers show an increase compared to the previous month's numbers, CASHA says there has been a slight decrease compared to last year. “The end of 2021 and the beginning of 2022 was an exceptionally good time for Curaçao, because the island was then one of the few countries you could go to. Especially for Dutch people who then faced a lockdown again, Curaçao was paradise to get through the corona time,” says CASHA.
What is striking, according to the organization, is the number of guests who stayed in the rooms of the participating hotels of CASHA. In the month of November, 13 accommodation owners together welcomed 864 guests.
The car rental sector performed better after months of declining figures. In September, the interest group saw an occupancy of seventy percent and in November of 75 percent. The attractions and diving schools also received more tourists in November than in October. CASHA reports that dive schools have been able to sell about 61 percent of their available time.
