WILLEMSTAD - On Saturday, April 20th, the waters of Curaçao witnessed an extraordinary feat as CASHA and Curaçao collectively set the Guinness World Record for underwater dominoes. With 138 enthusiastic divers and 35 tables, this remarkable Guinness World Record was established. The previous record stood at 60 divers and 10 minutes of play, at the bottom of a swimming pool. CASHA and the participating divers succeeded in breaking this record with 138 divers, without any disqualifications, and 23 minutes of playtime.
The event not only marked a triumph in the game of dominoes but also served as an inspiring demonstration of dedication to the preservation of our oceans. The participating divers played the domino game while floating, creating an unforgettable experience that pushed the boundaries of possibilities.
Around 1:30 PM, the representative from Guinness Records welcomed CASHA into the family of Guinness World Record holders. CASHA has made history and is proud of this achievement. There was an incredible sense of unity, enjoyment of the game underwater, and pride that CASHA as an organization and collaborating dive schools have elevated Curaçao to a pedestal.
In addition to the incredible spectacle underwater, a domino tournament also took place above water. Several hundred participants competed against each other, including the renowned multiple world champion Joaquin Martinez.
This remarkable success was thanks to the close collaboration of various CASHA dive schools, including Bahia Diving, Central Dive, CURious2Dive, Dushi Diving, Scubacao, Divers Republic, All About Scuba, CASHA members such as Villa Topzicht, and the CASHA board.
"We are incredibly proud of this achievement and grateful for the support of our supporters and sponsors," stated CASHA. "This Guinness World Record is not only a celebration of our ability to push boundaries but also a reminder of the importance of protecting our beautiful oceans."
However, none of this would have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors. CASHA particularly thanks CTB and KLM, the main sponsors, who enthusiastically supported the idea from the beginning. Additionally, CASHA is grateful to Van den Tweel, MCB, Esperamos Supermarket, Anna Bay Rum, Mirador Apartments, Dynaf, T-Experience, Curacao Activities, Villa Topzicht, Kunukuman, Curacao Domino Bond, Eetcafe Old Dutch, IDD World, Chichi, Kabisa, KostaBon, Sodka, Mari Stella SBO, Franky’s Chairs and Tables Rentals, Red Cross, and Citro for their assistance.
