Carnival Venezia visits Curaçao for the first time

WILLEMSTAD - The cruise ship Carnival Venezia, part of the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, made its inaugural visit to Curaçao on Thursday, October 5th.

Since it was the first time this cruise ship had visited Curaçao, an inaugural ceremony was held at the Ernest Jackie Voges pier, organized by the Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) and the ship's agent, Maduro Shipping. During the ceremony, the ship's captain, CPA officials, Mr. Ruisandro Cijntje (Minister of Economic Development), and representatives from Maduro Shipping and CTB addressed the audience, emphasizing the importance of the cruise industry for Curaçao.

The Carnival Venezia, with a capacity for 5,250 passengers, arrived in Curaçao with a total of 3,899 passengers on board. It is a "Vista class" cruise ship in the Carnival Cruise Line fleet, making its first-ever visit to Curaçao.

Although Carnival Venezia is a brand-new ship for Carnival, it is not entirely new. The ship was previously owned by Carnival's sister line, Costa, and was originally named Costa Venezia.
