WILLEMSTAD - A successful edition of the 14th edition of Vive La Gastronomie! On Thursday July 7th, Friday July 8th, and Saturday July 9th, Chef Akira Oshima created an exceptional culinary experience together with our own Executive Chef René Klop at our Sunset Deck Restaurant. During the culinary nights, an exclusive dinner was served with a sizzling 6-course menu with authentic Japanese creations in combination with Baoase’s specialties.  

Akira Oshima, former Executive Chef of Japanese restaurant Yamazato at Hotel Okura in Amsterdam up to 2012, is the only Japanese chef who has been awarded with a Michelin star. Akira notably received the Knight in the Order of Orange-Nassau in recognition of successfully introducing authentic Japanese cuisine in the Netherlands. His kitchen distinguishes itself from an ordinary Japanese sushi kitchen through its originality and authenticity. Japanese Restaurant Oshima opened on 25th October 2019 in Amsterdam.
