WILLEMSTAD - The flight connection between Germany and Curaçao needs to be improved. This was one of the topics discussed during the visit of Minister of Economic Development (MEO) Ruisandro Cijntje to the ITB Berlin, the largest tourism trade fair in the world.
Curaçao has been present at the ITB for years because, according to the ministry, Germany is the second most important European market for the island. The travel report describes that air traffic between the two countries needs improvement and that Curaçao must continue to draw more attention to the tourist product. “Discussions have been held with airlines that have yet to be followed up.”
Curaçao was promoted during the trade fair. Representatives from the tourism sector, financial services, logistics, ICT and government institutions such as the Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) were present.
During the fair, Cijntje also spoke with various countries about more cooperation in the cruise sector. In addition, the minister consulted with the director of the Argentine tourist office. “CTB will take the opportunity to promote Curaçao in the South American country. Argentina's economy minister has promised full cooperation.
The fair was concluded with a seminar in which Curaçao has established itself as a country with which it is good to do business, according to MEO.
