WILLEMSTAD - There are still 500 starting places available for the KLM Curaçao Marathon. The ninth edition will be held at the end of this month on Saturday, November 26 and Sunday, November 27. The Start and Finish location is at the Corendon Mangrove Beach Resort.
The total number of participants allowed to participate is 2,500. This has to do with guaranteeing the safety of all participants and supporters along the course.
The two thousand registered runners come from 31 countries, namely: Algeria, Argentina, Aruba, Belgium, Bonaire, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Colombia, Curaçao, Germany, El Salvador, France, Great Britain, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Austria, Panama, Puerto Rico, Sint Maarten, Slovenia, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Czech Republic, Venezuela, United States, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The youngest participant goes on the back and is less than one year old, the oldest participant is 79. On average, a KLM Marathon runner is just as old as the marathon is: 42 years.
Four distances can be run on the last weekend of this month. The five and ten kilometers are for regular runners and walkers, and the half and full marathons are for professionals and semi-professionals.
