WILLEMSTAD – Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of a man whose body was found early Monday morning at an apartment complex in Sorsaka.

Officers responding to the scene discovered the partially unclothed man lying in a pool of blood. He had suffered severe injuries to his throat and was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to preliminary information, a car driven by a woman was seen leaving the apartment complex at high speed shortly before the victim was discovered. During the escape, the vehicle reportedly struck and destroyed the barrier at the entrance and exit of the property.

Surveillance footage from the apartment complex helped detectives quickly identify the vehicle.

According to the police report, the footage shows the man attempting to enter the vehicle before a woman got into the gray car and drove away at high speed, crashing through the barrier as she left the property.

Police later located the vehicle on Kaya Beròm. Investigators reportedly found damage to the front of the car consistent with the collision with the barrier, as well as blood traces on a rear door.

The vehicle is reportedly a rental car and has been seized as part of the investigation.

On instructions from the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the victim’s body was also seized for further forensic examination.

Police are now working to reconstruct what happened at the apartment complex and determine the circumstances that led to the man's death.

No information has yet been released regarding the victim’s identity, and the text does not indicate that an arrest has been made.
