Termination of oversight and focus on progress at ACU

Main news | By Correspondent August 3, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - The management and Supervisory Board (RvS) of the Algemene Spaar- en Kredietcoöperatie (ACU), the credit union, are working together to strengthen the shared principles within the framework of applicable laws and regulations. Additionally, the so-called 'silent supervisors' are no longer active at ACU. This was stated in a press release by the organization.

As part of the new structure, the Central Bank of Curaçao and Sint Maarten (CBCS) recently proposed three new members to form the RvS. In late July, the CBCS terminated the presence of the 'silent curators' or silent supervisors at ACU. Until that moment, they were involved in supporting the implementation of the new governance model.

The management remains responsible for executing the new policies in line with ACU's principles. One of their tasks is to search for an interim financial director to assist the interim director.

The recruitment of a new general and financial director is in progress. The organization is also seeking candidates who prioritize ACU's interests and strive for progress.
