AMSTERDAM - Tania Kross will start on Monday with her project to get a theater in Curaçao again. Then, over the next hundred days, the mezzo-soprano wants to mobilize five hundred volunteers who together contribute to the creation of the theater collective Nos Teatro Kòrsou. She revealed her plans in the Op1 program on Dutch television.

Curaçao had its own theater until 2001. Sentro Pro Arte later burned down. This theater on the Schouwburgweg officially opened in September 1968. The theater was a gift to the population. It came about with donations from the Dutch government, Shell, government services and local private companies.

According to the opera singer, there are hundreds of Tanias on the island that she would like to receive in her theater. She considers herself privileged that she has been able to develop her talent.

Kross recently sent out an online registration form. With the help of this registration form, she tries to clarify who would like to contribute.
