State Secretary Zsolt Szabó: 'Still much to be done in Curaçao'

Main news | By Correspondent August 22, 2024

THE HAGUE - State Secretary Zsolt Szabó has expressed disappointment over the recent breakup of the coalition in Curaçao, highlighting that much work remains to be done on the island. Szabó emphasized the importance of good governance and swift action in forming a fully functioning government to ensure the progress of crucial tasks, including the ongoing reforms.

Szabó's comments come after his first official visit to the ABC islands last week, where he stressed the significance of maintaining good governance practices. Despite the political upheaval, he remains hopeful that a stable government will soon be in place to continue the work necessary for Curaçao’s development.

As of now, it appears that the coalition may be able to resume governing, which would allow further attention to key areas of reform and progress for the island.
