DUBAI, WILLEMSTAD - During his visit to Dubai, Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas took the opportunity to continue the discussions he had with the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) last year on May 1, 2023.

In March 2022, Curaçao signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with DMCC, a company based in Dubai. The representatives who signed on behalf of the Government of Curaçao were Minister of Economic Development Ruisandro Cijntje and Prime Minister Mr. Gilmar Pisas.
Mr. Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem, the CEO of DMCC (and son of DP World's CEO Mr. Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem), was supposed to visit Curaçao last year. However, due to the passing of their former President, His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the visit could not be finalized in May 2022.
Mr. Ahmed Sultan Bin Sulayem expressed great satisfaction with the First Minister's visit and confirmed his intention to resume the necessary procedures to arrange his visit to Curaçao in the near future.
During this second visit to DMCC, the Prime Minister was given a comprehensive tour of the various businesses and services offered by DMCC, including those related to coffee and diamonds.
