WILLEMSTAD - In a significant political shift, three PNP ministers—Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia, Ruisandro Cijntje, and Ornelio ‘Kid’ Martina—tendered their resignations to the Governor this afternoon, marking the end of their ministerial roles with immediate effect. The resignations follow a letter from the MFK faction, stating they no longer wished to work with two PNP parliamentarians due to a lack of trust. Upon facing this development, PNP leader Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia made the decision to dissolve the coalition and, alongside the other ministers, stepped down.

Following her resignation, Larmonie-Cecilia indicated that the PNP, also known as the "green party," is now shifting its focus to the upcoming elections. "We have made the right choice for the people of our island. Now, our attention turns to the elections in March next year," she stated.

KEM Party's Position

Amid the political upheaval, Michelangelo ‘Lo’ Martinez of the KEM party expressed that his party is open to collaboration with MFK. Martinez highlighted that KEM has supported the government in Parliament for the past three and a half years. After the coalition's collapse, MFK reached out to both KEM and independent MP Zita Jesus-Leito to explore forming a new coalition, with KEM indicating its willingness to join.

According to Martinez, the current situation presents two clear options: "Either elections are held, or KEM steps in to help support the government."
