WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Parliament held a public session on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, focusing on deliberations with the Pisas III Cabinet regarding the Government Program 2025–2029, titled “Policy Choices for a Resilient, Stable and Sustainable Curaçao.”
The session began with routine agenda items, including incoming documents and the approval of minutes from previous public meetings. Lawmakers approved the minutes before moving on to the central topic of the day: the presentation and discussion of the government’s multi-year policy program.

Parliament President Fergino Brownbill opened the floor for the government to present its plans. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas led the presentation, starting with an overview from the Ministry of General Affairs.
This was followed by presentations from multiple ministries outlining their priorities and policy direction for the coming years. Minister Roderick Middelhof presented the plans for Economic Development, while Minister Shalten Hato addressed both Justice and Governance-related portfolios.
Minister Charles Cooper presented on Finance as well as Traffic, Transport and Urban Planning, and Minister Tyron Boekhoudt outlined the policy direction for Health, Environment and Nature.
Additional presentations were delivered by Minister Charetti America-Francisca (SOAW) and Minister Sithree van Heydoorn (OWCS), covering social policy, education and cultural development.
Following the presentations, Parliament moved into the first round of debate, during which Members of Parliament were given 20 minutes to ask questions and provide comments. Ministers then returned to the parliamentary chamber to respond to the questions raised.
A second round of 10 minutes followed, allowing MPs to pose additional questions and express appreciation for the responses provided by the government. Ministers addressed these follow-up questions during the same session.
The deliberations form part of the formal parliamentary process to evaluate and scrutinize the government’s policy agenda for the 2025–2029 period. The program outlines the strategic direction of the Pisas III Cabinet, focusing on strengthening resilience, maintaining stability and advancing sustainable development in Curaçao.
Further debates and evaluations are expected as Parliament continues its review of the government’s long-term policy plans.
