WILLEMSTAD - In a festive atmosphere at Landhuis Vredenberg last Friday evening, PAR officially launched its campaign and introduced its candidates. During the event, both party chairman Michel Berry and political leader Quincy Girigorie addressed the attendees.

PAR candidates
In his speech, party chairman Michel Berry expressed pride in the list of candidates with whom PAR will participate in the March 21, 2025 elections. The list features many new faces with experience in various fields. According to Berry, these candidates are standing here today because they felt called to make a greater contribution to the country.
Berry stated:
“Our candidates are individuals who have always contributed to the progress and development of the country in various ways and areas. Today, they stand here because they have answered the call to actively contribute to our nation.”
The list includes teachers, entrepreneurs, and young professionals with expertise in fields such as law, insurance, communication, and the financial sector. There are also individuals from the healthcare and social sectors, bringing diverse life experiences. Together, they represent the many groups that make up Curaçao's society.
Political leader Quincy Girigorie delivered a clear message, outlining what the community can expect from PAR: returning the country to core values such as decency, integrity, and family.
Girigorie emphasized the need for a nation where democracy truly functions.
He also elaborated on "The Agenda," in which PAR presents 20 solutions for the people of Curaçao. These proposals emerged from discussions and exchanges with various groups within the community. Notable initiatives include:
Subsidizing after-school homework programs to relieve parents of homework stress.
Increasing the AOV (general old-age pension) to a dignified level.
One solution that drew significant attention was the proposal to abolish income tax and sales tax (OB).
After the official portion of the evening, attendees danced to the music of Happy Peanuts and celebrated with the candidates well into the night.
