No additional measures against Chinese travelers

Main news | By Correspondent January 9, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao government is not taking any additional corona measures against travelers traveling to Curaçao from China.

According to the Ministry of Health, Environment and Nature (GMN), the Chinese government has applied a hard lockdown in recent years, but now that the measures have been lifted, the virus is spreading rapidly.

The ministry emphasizes monitoring the peak in corona infections and the overburdened health system in the country, but sees no reason to impose additional travel restrictions for the time being.

Numerous countries, including the Netherlands since Friday, have decided that a negative corona test is required for travelers from China from this week.

The ministry advises people to protect themselves and the vulnerable, especially during the upcoming carnival period.
