DEN HAAG – The new Dutch Cabinet led by Prime Minister Rob Jetten will be officially sworn in on Monday, February 23, during a ceremony at Huis ten Bosch Palace. The inauguration and subsequent coverage will also be broadcast live on Curaçao, though viewers will need to tune in early due to the time difference.
The swearing-in of Prime Minister Rob Jetten and the ministers and state secretaries will take place in the Oranjezaal of Huis ten Bosch, where they will take the oath or make a formal pledge before Willem-Alexander.
The live broadcast on NPO begins at 4:50 a.m. Curaçao time and concludes with the traditional balcony appearance on the palace steps. Later that day, a special program by NOS will introduce and interview the newly appointed ministers. That broadcast will air on the islands from 3:35 p.m. to 4:35 p.m. via NPO 1, BVN, and online through NOS.nl and the NOS app.
With the swearing-in, the Cabinet-Jetten formally takes office, bringing the post-election formation process following the 2025 Dutch parliamentary elections to an end. The new government is a minority cabinet formed by D66, VVD, and CDA.
The ceremony marks the constitutional start of the new governing term. Substantive policy plans and priorities are expected to be presented and debated later in the Dutch parliament.
