MFK, KEM, and Zita Jesus-Leito to sign new coalition agreement on Monday

Main news | By Correspondent September 9, 2024

WILLEMSTAD - The new coalition agreement between political parties MFK, KEM, and independent parliamentarian Zita Jesus-Leito will be signed on Monday. The government collapsed on August 21 following tensions between the two cabinet parties, MFK and PNP. KEM and Zita Jesus-Leito subsequently expressed their intention to form a coalition with MFK.

The two PNP parliamentarians, Gwendell Mercelina and Sheldry Osepa, had labeled Finance and Health, Environment, and Nature Minister Javier Silvania of MFK as untrustworthy, leading MFK to refuse further collaboration with them.

The agreement will be made between the political parties Movementu Futuro Kòrsou (MFK), Kòrsou Esun Miho (KEM), and independent parliamentarian Zita Jesus-Leito. “The amendment to the governing program focuses on policy implementation with the people of Curaçao at the center,” stated MFK in a press release.

The official signing of the amendment to the 2022-2025 Governing Program will take place on Monday between 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM at the Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort.
