WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Medical Center receives almost twenty million guilders in liquidity support from the Curaçao government to pay the healthcare costs for the uninsured. These are costs incurred between 2019 and 2022.
In the past, the government has been asked several times to cover the costs for the uninsured. Because the various ministers of Health did not respond, those costs have now risen to almost twenty million. 2023 is not included in this. This year the bill has already risen to one and a half million guilders.
The decision to pay now stems from the Administrative Outline Agreement Remediation of CMC entities.
