Honoring the Senior League 2023 Champions

Main news | By Press release August 7, 2023

Invitation to the People of Curaçao to join the government in honoring the Senior League team that has been crowned champions.

WILLEMSTAD - Through this, the government invites the people of Curaçao to come together and honor our Senior League Baseball World Series champions on Monday, August 7, 2023, at Plaza Brion in Otrabanda. Our P'abou league youth achieved the title of World Champions in the Senior League 2023 category in Easley, South Carolina, representing the Caribbean region. For this reason, we are honoring them for putting the name of our beloved Curaçao on the world map.

The program starts from the Hato Airport when they arrive at 3:15 PM from the United States. They will be received by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, Mr. Sithree van Heydoorn, along with other Ministers from the Pisas Cabinet. After this, they will embark on a parade in a trailer towards Plaza Brion. The trailer will follow the complete Carnival route. The activity at Plaza Brion is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM and end at 9:00 PM. During the event, there will be speeches by government representatives, the main sponsor, and musical entertainment by the Orirí group, One Flavaz, and DJs Diego and Leannon Rumaay.

Program:

The Government of Curaçao is making a petition to the entire community to come out of their homes and greet our youth along the route while also bestowing honor and appreciation upon our young baseball players. This is in recognition of their achievement, which has made the name of our beloved Curaçao resonate on television and radio channels worldwide, showing how great we are.

In this way, together with the people, the Government of Curaçao expresses its gratitude to our children for their priceless accomplishment.

We will meet at Plaza Brion on Monday, August 7th, next.
