Main news | By Correspondent January 5, 2023

WILLEMSTAD - Health economist Eline van den Broek was a guest at the Curaçao Medical Center (CMC). There she gave a lecture on Economic Evaluation for Public Health.

Economic evaluation is the comparative analysis/evaluation of health care interventions in terms of their costs and consequences. In various programs, the generated results and outcomes are examined on the basis of their input.

Economic evaluation is also known as economic assessment. Bitter necessity for the financially distressed CMC. The resources of the hospital are limited, while on the other hand, the costs of programs are rising alongside more innovative and technological advancements. Thus, economic evaluation has become a necessary need for public health care in Curaçao as a whole and for the CMC in particular.
