WILLEMSTAD - The price of gasoline will go up by 12 cents next Saturday. At the gas station, the price is 2.29 guilders per liter. The Bureau of Telecommunication and Post announced this.
Diesel, on the other hand, will drop in price on Saturday. Instead of the almost 1.92 guilders that now must be paid, the new price will be just over 1.87 guilders, an advantage of almost five cents per liter.
Normally, fuel prices are adjusted on the first Tuesday of the month, why that is now Saturday is not known. Supervisor BTP was unavailable for comment.
Temporary fuel tax measures
The temporary tax measures for fuels will expire on 1 April. As a result, the end-user tariff for gasoline is rising, mainly because of the changes in the tax components.
Despite the changes to those fiscal components, the end-user rate for diesel is falling due to a sharp drop in the purchase price.
