WILLEMSTAD - The price for a liter of gasoline will increase by nearly three cents on Tuesday, April 30th. Currently priced at approximately 2.26 guilders, it will rise to slightly over 2.29 guilders on Tuesday. The Bureau of Telecommunications and Post states that the hike is mainly due to the increased global trade price.
Diesel prices will also rise. Starting next Tuesday, you will pay almost 1.85 guilders per liter at the pump. Currently, it is just under 1.82 guilders, which means an increase of about 2.7 cents per liter.
The end-user rate for diesel is rising mainly due to the higher purchase price. However, every month, the extra costs or savings for pump operators due to the value of their stocks during a price change are also calculated. This corrective factor now allows for a slower increase in gasoline and diesel prices.
Water and Electricity
Prices for water and electricity always change on the first day of the month, in this case, May 1st. Water prices decrease by less than a cent for the first nine cubic meters. From May 1st, a thousand liters will cost 8.69 guilders. Those consuming more than 20 cubic meters this month will pay slightly less than 17.75 per thousand liters for the excess consumption.
Electricity will cost 60 cents per kilowatt-hour for the first 250 kWh starting Monday, slightly more than two and a half cents cheaper. Those who consume more will pay more. Above 350 kWh, the price will exceed 75 cents per kilowatt-hour.
