WILLEMSTAD - The discussions surrounding the Ennia case have not yet subsided, as Parliament will continue talks on Thursday regarding the current status of the insurance company. The last parliamentary meeting on this matter was held in October, although there were discussions during the budget meeting in January.
The October meeting, which eventually ended due to an adjournment, resulted in the most obvious solution for the coalition parties: the government will set aside 30 million guilders annually from 2027 to cover the pensions of Ennia's customers. This was the main reason for opposition parties to vote against this year's budget.
The parliamentary session will resume on Thursday and is open to the public. The Members of Parliament will commence at 10:00 AM.
