WILLEMSTAD - The price for a kilowatt hour of electricity will drop by more than four cents on Saturday. The new price is then rounded to 67 cents. Bureau Telecommunication and Post reports this.
That price applies to the first 250 kilowatt hours. Those who consume more must pay more per unit of electricity supplied. For example, the next hundred kilowatt hours is almost 87 cents and those who consume even more will have to pay more than 82 cents per kilowatt hour for that additional use.
The decrease in electricity rates is the result of a decrease in fuel prices to generate energy, combined with a slightly lower share of wind energy and a higher use of cheaper production facilities.
Water
Water goes up. A thousand liters will cost 9.55 guilders rounded off from Saturday. Rounded off, that is twelve cents more expensive per cubic meter for the first nine cubic meters.
The progressive rate system also applies here, with the next scale having a price of 14.70 guilders. Those who consume more than twelve cubic meters must pay 16.64 per 1000 liters of water for that additional use.
The increase in water tariffs is the result of lower electricity costs for water production and a significantly higher correction factor for February 2023.
