WILLEMSTAD - The opposition parties expressed criticism on Monday about the situation surrounding Caribbean Petroleum Refinery (CPR). During a parliamentary meeting about the refinery, the PAR, MAN, TpK and KEM parties asked why no complaint was filed against CPR.
The forgery and Refineria di Korsou's (RdK) reaction to this has gone down the wrong way with the Members of Parliament. Michelangelo Martines of the KEM party wonders why the government and RdK are still negotiating with these 'gangsters and mafia'. Prime Minister Gilmar Pisas indicated that there are documents circulating in Parliament that are 'non-disclosure' and that the CPR can claim the government for this. Pisas asks the opposition to "depoliticize" the process.
RdK admitted that one of the investors of Caribbean Petroleum Refinery (CPR) falsified financial documents. CPR said it had taken all necessary measures and cut off communication with the investors involved, the Giusti group.
