Baseball will shine with the help of our professionals
WILLEMSTAD - Hensley Meulens officially launched Curaçao Baseball Week (CBW) during a press conference held on January 2, 2024 at Fort Amsterdam. Meulens, along with the organizing team, baseball professionals, special guests such as sponsors and media, came together to get acquainted and warmly welcome everyone to the 2024 edition of CBW. This year, CBW is once again packed with activities aimed at players, coaches, and umpires to continue developing baseball in Curaçao.
Baseball stars arrived in Curaçao
All the baseball players and coaches arrived in Curaçao. Not only our internationally acclaimed baseball stars but also the legend in baseball, Dusty Baker, has arrived in Curaçao and is present during CBW. Baker is extremely excited to be part of CBW and to visit Curaçao. Similarly, Xander Bogaerts is participating for the first time in CBW. CBW gives thanks to Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort, which will provide accommodation. Don't miss the chance to meet these stars in baseball.
Baseball clinics from January 3rd to 5th, 2024
The exciting moment has arrived where a large number of children will participate in baseball clinics. The clinics will take place from January 3rd to January 5th, 2024. A remarkable change this year is that the Pre-Minor clinics will be held at Didi Deeds Field. The remaining clinics will occur at the usual venue, Tio Daou Ballpark. Additionally, the clinics for coaches and umpires will take place on January 4th and 5th, 2024, at Tio Daou Ballpark. It's a great opportunity to expand our baseball knowledge in Curaçao. Throughout every clinic, there will be opportunities to purchase tickets for CBW events and CBW merchandise such as T-shirts, caps, etc.
More activities
In addition to the clinics, there will also be a Home Run Derby taking place on January 5th, 2024. The Bam Bam Tech Sports Zone (BBTSZ) at Sambil will be the venue for the Home Run Derby. Tickets available for only 10 guilders each person and available at BBTSZ. Pitsmoker will be there, so everyone can enjoy a delicious Texas-style BBQ. Save the date so you don't miss this Home Run Derby!
The Celebrity Golf Tournament that will take place on January 6th, 2024, is sold out. There are some tickets available at a price of USD 100 each to attend the Dinner Award Night event. The Dinner Award Night is the moment to announce the winners of the golf tournament. As a complimentary gesture provided by the Curaçao Tourist Board, four people will travel to Miami on April 30, 2024, for a two-night stay to attend a Miami Marlins game against the Colorado Rockies. Afterward, the winners can enjoy dinner with Hensley Meulens in Miami. Tickets for the Dinner Award Night are available at BBTSZ. Additionally, the annual auction featuring a large number of collector's items will take place during this event. On the CBW social media pages, you can get a glimpse of the auction items. All these additional activities aim to raise funds to purchase equipment for all baseball teams in Curaçao.
