WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao's EZ Air has been instructed by a court ruling to initiate a comprehensive rebranding process, compelling it to change its name, logo, and all other associated elements that constitute its corporate image and promotional materials. This verdict follows a legal dispute instigated by the British aviation company EasyJet, which accused EZ Air of infringing on its international copyright privileges by employing a name featuring the word "easy."
René Winkel, owner of EZ Air, acknowledged that the company is compelled to undergo a rebranding initiative that will encompass the introduction of a new name, logo, and other essential components. This rebranding undertaking is slated to be executed soon.
Moreover, the company will undertake the development of an entirely new website to facilitate flight bookings. This extensive process is expected to take some time to complete. The unveiling of EZ Air's new name will coincide with the broader rebranding strategy.
Founded in Bonaire in 2000, EZ Air began its journey specializing in Air Ambulance services and gradually expanded its operations to become a regional airline. Currently, it connects the ABC islands and various Colombian cities. The company boasts a fleet of five aircraft, comprising two Air Ambulance units and three Saab 340 planes with a passenger capacity of 34 individuals.
