WILLEMSTAD - The Curaçao Investment & Export Promotion Agency (CINEX) is delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC). This momentous agreement aims to strengthen trade and business relations between Curaçao, Suriname, and Guyana, ushering in a new era of economic collaboration and development. The signing ceremony occurred last week at “Het Surinaamsch Rumhuis” in Paramaribo, Suriname.

The Partnership Purpose, Obligations, and Benefits highlights are:
Establish and support effective consultation and cooperation between CINEX and SGCC,
Build capacity for continued business development activities within Curaçao, Suriname, and Guyana,
Explore and coordinate the integration of each party’s strategies, promoting international commercial business practices,
Develop self-regulatory instruments that enhance trade facilitation effectiveness,
Facilitate the exchange of information and views on objectives and policies, and,
Foster increased competitiveness among businesses and stakeholders in all three regions.
The MOU underscores a mutual commitment to promoting trade and industrial growth. By pooling their efforts, CINEX and SGCC will work towards Efficient regional trade procedures, Industrial restructuring, enterprise development, and Enhanced entrepreneurship initiatives.
Interim Executive Director of CINEX, Mrs. Jeanette Bonet, stated, “Our partnership with the SGCC is founded on mutual recognition of the importance of trade facilitation and entrepreneurship. This MOU represents a significant step forward in fostering stronger trade ties and business collaboration between Curaçao, Suriname, and Guyana. Present for the signing were Dr. Vishnu Doerga, Chairman of SGCC, and Mr. Pedro Vega Orozco, Commercial manager of CINEX, and as witnesses Mr. Derrick Klaverweide, Vice Chairman of SGCC and Minister of Economic Development of Curaçao Mr. Ruisandro Cijntje.
