The Coast Guard, Police and other authorities will carry out checks during Fuikdag
WILLEMSTAD - The Coast Guard, Police and other authorities will conduct strict checks at sea and along the coastlines during Fuikdag 2023. The purpose of these checks is to ensure that persons comply with the measures as established by the Government of Curaçao for Fuikdag 2023. The Coast Guard requests owners of pleasure craft, charter boats and seadoo's to take into account the rules that apply for Fuikdag 2023.
Based on the measures, the sale of alcohol is not allowed during Fuikdag, no permissions are given for playing music on fleets and/or stages. All boats must have sufficient life jackets on board in accordance with the number of passengers allowed on board, as well as their boat's documents. Safety items for signaling and whistling must also be on board. There will be checks on vessels by the Port and Safety Inspectorate and the Coast Guard. In addition, the Fire Brigade will carry out checks with regard to lighting fire on board in connection with BBQ. No music playing is allowed after 5PM. Authorities are also going to strictly monitor gatherings after 5PM at bays and other locations at sea.
It is not allowed to pick up and drop off people (lifts) to get to Fuikbaai. This measure is necessary because people who sail along sometimes stay behind at Fuikbaai without being able to return to Caracasbaai. The result is that these people walk through the private property of the Barbara Beach to get back to the city. All this contributes to even more chaos and as such is not tolerated. All boats from other countries must enter through Immigration and Customs to clear. The Coast Guard, the Police Corps and other competent authorities responsible for public order will act properly against those who do not comply with the said measures.
Authorities present to monitor and assist during Fuikdag 2023; the Coast Guard, Curaçao Police Force, Port and Security Inspectorate, Fire Department, Santa Barbara Security, Red Cross, Fundashon Kuido Ambulance Curaçao and Citro.
