CBS Launches New Population Report and Interactive Demographics Dashboard

Main News, Local, | By Correspondent July 10, 2026

WILLEMSTAD – The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) Curaçao has released its latest demographic report, Population of Curaçao per January 1, 2026: An Overview of Demographic Developments, along with a new interactive Population Dashboard designed to provide easier access to the island's key population statistics.

The publication and dashboard were launched ahead of World Population Day, observed annually on July 11, to highlight the importance of reliable and up-to-date demographic data for policymaking and public awareness.

Each year, CBS Curaçao publishes the island's official population statistics based on administrative data received from the Civil Registry (Kranshi). The registry maintains official records of vital events, including births, deaths, marriages, divorces, immigration and emigration. CBS compiles and analyzes this information to produce the official demographic statistics for Curaçao.

The 2026 population report provides a comprehensive overview of the island's demographic trends, including population growth, fertility, mortality, immigration and emigration. It also examines the composition of the population by age and gender, historical demographic trends, life expectancy, the dependency ratio and other key demographic indicators.

According to CBS, the publication offers valuable insights into how Curaçao's population is changing over time and provides important information to support government planning, research and public policy.

At the same time, CBS has introduced a new interactive Population Dashboard that allows users to explore the latest demographic data in an accessible format.

The dashboard includes information on the total population, births, deaths, immigration, emigration, population growth, age distribution and other demographic indicators. Interactive charts and tables allow users to analyze trends over multiple years and download data for further analysis.

CBS said the new online tool is intended to improve public access to official statistics while making demographic information more useful for researchers, policymakers, businesses and the general public.

Both the report, Population of Curaçao per January 1, 2026: An Overview of Demographic Developments, and the interactive Population Dashboard are now available on the CBS Curaçao website.
