Main news | By Correspondent December 22, 2022

WILLEMSTAD - On Tuesday, Parliament approved the budget of the country of Curaçao for the year 2023. The thirteen members of parliament of the coalition MFK and PNP voted in favor and seven opposition members voted against. Only opposition member Michelangelo Martinez of the KEM party did not vote.

The government has taken the uncommitted refinancing of old debts as a starting point in order to balance the budget. A step that the Financial Supervision Board usually does not agree with. The risks in healthcare, including the Curaçao Medical Center CMC, are also not included.
