Update COVID-19 in Curaçao: The fourth case confirmed

WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao’s epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth confirms today that there is a new COVID-19 infection. It concerns the person whose test was first inconclusive.

In early March this person was in the Netherlands and was in contact with people who were infected. He developed symptoms on Curaçao and was tested here. There is a direct link with the Netherlands and all four infected persons here. All four infections had taken place abroad. None was local contamination.

So far 114 people were tested who made contact and had symptoms. Up until now 4 tested positive, one has passed away.

Some other updates:

Supermarket representative says that only one family member is allowed to come to a supermarket and not the whole family. 50 people maximum at a supermarket. 30 people can enter and 20 have to wait outside.
