WILLEMSTAD - On Sunday, the police, in cooperation with the Coast Guard, the Port Safety Inspectorate and the Fire Department, will ensure that Fuikdag runs smoothly.

True to tradition, hundreds of boats arrive on Fuik Bay on the first Sunday of the year.

For example, alcohol cannot be sold, and the construction of floating platforms is not allowed.

Ships must have as many lifejackets as there are people on board, as well as emergency kits.

It is not allowed to serve as a water taxi and to give people rides to and from the event.
