WILLEMSTAD - The Danish Gambling Authority Spillemyndigheden has blocked access to 25 sites, including several online casino sites, after petitioning the country’s telecommunications providers.
Among the sites that have been banned, access has been banned several Curaçao-based operators alongside 1xBet, Equinox Dynamic’s Nordic Casino, Orientxpresscasino and La Fiesta Casino sites.
Game Tech Group’s Ramses Casino and two domains for its Cashpot Casino site have also been sanctioned as part of the court order from Copenhagen City Court.
Also blocked by Danish ISPs are Alpha Interactive Solutions’ Casino Napoli and Mr James Casino, as well as Usoftgaming’s Ph.Casino site.
“We will continue our efforts to tackle illegal gambling and look carefully for the skin betting sites, especially, since they often involve children playing computer games that can suddenly evolve into gambling,” commented Spillemyndigheden director Birgitten Sand.
“Therefore, we are also looking at other methods to get rid of these illegal pages, while simultaneously continuing to monitor unlicensed betting and gaming sites targeting Denmark.”
As part of the ban, Danish internet providers are now obliged to block access to ten igaming sites, in addition to 15 skin betting websites. This will be the second time the regulator had been granted a court order to prevent access to such sites, following its successful ban on six sites in February 2018.
