Rhuggenaath: Military equipment America only with the permission of Prime Minister Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath admits that military material from the United States can indeed be transported through Curaçao's territory, but only with the express permission of the Prime Minister of Curaçao.

Rhuggenaath says this in response to statements by Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She stated that The Hague has given America the free hand to use Curaçao as a springboard for military intervention in Venezuela.

The prime minister again emphasizes that the treaty between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and America is intended to use the infrastructure of Curaçao as a humanitarian hub for Venezuela.

The treaty emphasizes that only with the explicit permission of the Kingdom and the Prime Minister of Curaçao can transport other than humanitarian be allowed.

In which case Rhuggenaath will give permission for the transport of military material, he cannot say. This is done in any case in consultation with the Council of Ministers and the Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs.
