Poverty is increasing in Curaçao

WILLEMSTAD - Poverty is increasing again in Curaçao. Thirty percent of all families live below the poverty line.

According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, this involves 49,000 people. In 2011, that was a quarter, 25 percent.

A single-parent family with two children needs a minimum of 2037 guilders to survive. With that you can buy just enough food and clothes and pay your rent or mortgage including gas, water, electricity and insurance.
