One of the world's largest cargo ships “Wugang Atlantic” ready for passage through the St. Anna Bay

WILLEMSTAD - DSCu (Damen Shiprepair Curaçao), CPA (Curaçao Port Authority) and KTK (Kompania di Tou Kòrsou) are preparing together to once again receive one of the world's largest ships in our port.

The cargo ship Wugang Atlantic, a VLOC (Very Large Ore Carrier) that transports bulk good ore, arrived yesterday afternoon at the port of Curaçao, after a voyage of about a week from Brazil. Here she is waiting until tomorrow morning, Saturday, October 19, around 5:00 a.m., to enter St. Anna Bay with destination Damen Shiprepair Curaçao. Here she will be moored on the quay for maintenance and repair work.

The passage of this colossus through our St. Anna Bay, with its size of 330 meters long and 57 meters wide, makes history as the 5th largest ship that enters our harbor. This reminds us a lot of the smaller cargo ship "Xin Guang Hua" that passed our St. Anna Bay in April 2018 with the two floating docks of Damen Shiprepair Curaçao on board. It has a length of 255 meters.
