Ministry starts project to tackle mosquito problem

WILLEMSTAD - The Ministry of Health, Nature and Environment is starting a project to tackle the mosquito problem. They report this on their website.

The project called "Mosquitoes are a problem for everyone" is intended to make the entire population aware of the dangers of mosquitoes such as diseases such as Zika, Chikungunya and Dengue.

The last five years, according to the ministry, there have been two outbreaks of the Aedes aegypti, also called yellow fever mosquito. This mosquito can transmit all multiple diseases and reproduce in still water.

In addition to distributing information about this, the ministry is also going to visit the houses to check whether there is still water in and around the house.
