WILLEMSTAD - On 14 May Minister Jesus-Leito (VVRP) signed an agreement with Eigen Woning Plan (EWP) for the construction of 500 homes. The agreement was signed in the context of the Macro Public, Private, Partnership (PPP) project, which means that the government works together with private partners to build homes for our citizens.

Minister Jesus-Leito, EWP director Mr. Wendell Bonafacio, project leader Mr. W. Elsevier and chairman of the supervisory board of Jansen and de Jong Group Mr. H. Smits signed the agreement in the presence of employees of the ministry.

One of the necessities of life is housing. For this reason, the minister has this as one of her priorities. The minister does everything possible to realize projects that help everyone to find an affordable home.

The project also generates long-term jobs and fights the illegal occupation of homes.

The 500 homes are divided into 6 neighborhoods: Mahuma Zuid, Montaña Abou phase II, Rooi Santu, Ronde Klip, Brakkeput phase II and Tra’i Seru.

The ministry and EWP will take the necessary steps to start the construction of the houses and they will provide information to the population about how interested people can be eligible for a house from this project.
