Curfew will not be extended

WILLEMSTAD - The fire brigade and police force reported dozens of fires were made during the restless night last night. Despite the curfew. 53 mondi (bushes) fires were counted, 1 school and several houses were set on fire, there were 2 fires on the road and 5 false reports. All fire brigade units have been deployed.

The Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie announced that the curfew will not be extended tonight. “Everything has to go back to normal!” But he urges everyone to follow the rules. There will be additional presence of the various protection services on the street.

21 arrests were made in response to the irregularities last night. Again, for fires, illegal fireworks, drugs and violating curfew. Almost all these 21 people were youngsters. Six people have been released and 15 people are still detained.
