AMS-IX Caribbean deploys Point-of-Presence in Blue NAP Americas data center in Curaçao

AMSTERDAM, WILLEMSTAD - AMS-IX, the world's leading internet exchange, is proud to announce that AMS-IX Caribbean is expanding into Blue NAP Americas (BNA) data center in Willemstad, Curaçao. The Blue NAP Americas data centre will become the second AMS-IX Point-of-Presence (POP) in the Caribbean region next to the E-Commerce Park (ECP) data center where AMS-IX Caribbean is present since 2008.

AMS-IX Caribbean Director Nico Scheper comments: "I am delighted to see that the Blue NAP Americas data centre is becoming our second POP in Curaçao. Our presence in both BNA and ECP data centres not only adds resiliency to our network set-up but it also creates diversity on the level of submarine cable connectivity, as submarine cables like the Pacific Caribbean Cable System (PCCS) are now also accessible. Furthermore, I would like to emphasize the importance of Curaçao as a connectivity hub and the connectivity opportunities it offers, not only for Curaçao, but for the whole region due to the presence of a large amount of submarine cables connecting us with the rest of the LATAM region."

"The deployment of the AMS-IX Caribbean POP in our Tier-IV data centre in Curaçao strengthens Blue NAP Americas services towards our customers," says Ton van den Berg, General Manager Blue NAP Americas: "With AMS-IX Caribbean, we do not only provide a secure and reliable data centre facility, we can now also offer internet exchange services for the whole LATAM region."

AMS-IX Caribbean, a neutral Internet Exchange (IX) based in Curaçao, offers high quality IP peering and interconnectivity services, whether it be traditional data, Voice-over-IP, mobile traffic, or video, for the Caribbean and South American region.

Since April 2013, the Caribbean Internet Exchange (CAR-IX) is an integral part of the AMS-IX environment and carries the name AMS-IX Caribbean.
