AIVD: Crisis Venezuela has consequences for the stability of the ABC islands

THE HAGUE - In the annual report presented today by the Dutch Intelligence Agency (AIVD), little attention is paid to the situation in the neighboring country. The agency does state that the influx of Venezuelan migrants to the islands has had consequences for their stability.

“On the other side of the world, the largest neighbor of the Kingdom, Venezuela, is in a deep crisis. The deplorable state in which the country finds itself, both politically and economically, causes the population to suffer severely. This has led to millions of refugees, which also has consequences for the stability of the areas within the Kingdom, Aruba, Bonaire, and Curaçao,” the annual report says.
