WILLEMSTAD - The new members of Parliament were sworn in this morning in the Governor's Palace. Governor Lucille George-Wout took the oath from 21 new MPs. The ceremony was broadcast live.

Afterward, the new members of parliament presented themselves to the press outside on the steps of the Palace and the square of the Fort Amsterdam government center. The measures surrounding Covid-19 were generally well observed by the politicians and the press.

The members of Parliament then went to the PWFC building on Schottegatweg West where the first Parliament meeting in a new composition was held at 10.00 am. The main item on the agenda: the election of the new President and Vice-President of Parliament for the next four years.

The Members of Parliament have also elected the new president for the next four years. Mrs. Charetti America-Francisca has been elected as the new President of Parliament and Mrs. Ruthmilda Larmonie-Cecilia as the Vice-President.
