WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) has announced that the Queen Emma Bridge will remain out of service through the end of September, with ferry services operating around the clock to maintain the connection between Punda and Otrobanda.
According to CPA, the ferries will temporarily run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring residents, commuters and visitors can continue crossing St. Anna Bay while the iconic floating bridge is unavailable.
The extended ferry schedule will remain in effect until the Queen Emma Bridge returns to service.
The Queen Emma Bridge, one of Curaçao's best-known landmarks, is a vital pedestrian link between the historic districts of Punda and Otrobanda. During periods when the bridge is closed, ferry service provides the primary means of crossing the harbor for pedestrians.
CPA has advised the public to make use of the continuous ferry service while the bridge remains out of operation and said further updates will be provided if the timeline changes.
