WILLEMSTAD - Outgoing minister Zita Jesus-Leito will take her parliamentary seat for the PAR party on May 11. She said this to various media on Monday. According to Jesus-Leito, a request has been made by the party for her not to take her seat in Parliament in order to give younger people a chance. Jesus-Leito turns 64 today.
She is fourth on the list, behind Eugene Rhuggenaath, Quincy Girigorie and Ana-Maria Pauletta. Number five is the current Minister of Education Steven Croes, he is 41 years old. Jesus-Leito says she has been approached by the party not to take her seat. But she refuses, because she says she adheres to the democratic rules. She wants to serve the people in Parliament.
