WILLEMSTAD - Curaçao’s tourism and adventure landscape reached a new milestone this weekend with the official opening of Zipline Adventures Curaçao, the island’s first-ever zipline attraction, located in the nature park Hòfi Mango. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by brothers Jandino and Kenneth Asporaat, who unveiled the park under the slogan “Zip, Fly, Feel Alive.”

During the opening weekend, invited guests were the first to experience the ziplines firsthand. The course stretches nearly one kilometer, offering a thrilling ride with panoramic views of Playa Santa Cruz, the mangrove forest, and the Caribbean Sea. According to the organizers, the enthusiastic reactions from guests confirmed that the attraction is fully ready for the public.

The experience begins from a high platform positioned on one of the park’s hilltops. From there, visitors soar across the mangrove forest and surrounding natural landscape, combining adrenaline with the beauty of Bandabou’s pristine environment.

“Samen staan we sterk

In his opening remarks, initiator Jandino Asporaat emphasized the power of collaboration:

“We often hear it everywhere: the smallest country, the smallest country. And yes, we are the smallest country. But look at what happens when we work together—you can achieve very big things. Just like our qualification for the World Cup, together we made Curaçao’s first zipline possible.”

A Full Nature and Heritage Experience

Each zipline ticket includes entry to Hòfi Mango, allowing visitors to explore more than just the zipline itself. Guests can walk through the centuries-old mangrove forest, see the historical sugar mill, and visit the oldest distillery on the island, dating back to 1707. This blending of adventure, nature, and history places the attraction firmly within the cultural landscape of Bandabou.

Safety First

Local operators underwent a full month of training to ensure the safe operation of the ziplines. Safety, the Asporaat brothers emphasized, is the highest priority. Zipline Adventures Curaçao is designed to welcome both local residents and tourists, offering a new and exciting way to experience the island.

The opening of the island’s first zipline marks a significant addition to Curaçao’s adventure tourism offerings and highlights the potential of local collaboration in expanding the island’s attractions.
